Hi Blaine,

Is adding the "Digg" link/button on the stories a difficult thing? Will that be part of the next version of Geeklog?

We appreciate all your hard work - I sent in a donation on HeavenlySanctuary.com's behalf.

Warmly,

- Marco

Thanks Marco for the new years gift :)

This was something I did a few months ago and I think all that I needed to do was modify a few templates. Make a copy of your storytext.thtml and try this version.

HTML Formatted Code

<div class="story">
    <span class="story-icons" style="margin-top:2px;">
<script type="text/javascript">
digg_url = '{article_url}';
</script>
<script src="http://digg.com/tools/diggthis.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    </span>
    <h1 style="margin-top:5px;">{start_storylink_anchortag}{story_title}{end_storylink_anchortag}</h1>
    <div class="story-information">
                <div class="post-date"><div class="post-month">{pub_month}</div> <div class="post-day">{pub_day}</div></div>
        {lang_contributed_by} {start_contributedby_anchortag}{contributedby_author}{end_contributedby_anchortag}<br>
        {lang_views} {story_hits}
    </div>
    <div class="story-body">
        {story_anchortag_and_image}{story_introtext}
    </div>
    <div class="story-footer">
        {edit_link}&nbsp;{page_selector}<br>
        {readmore_link} {post_comment_link}<br>
        {start_comments_anchortag}{comments_with_count}{end_comments_anchortag} {start_trackbacks_anchortag}{trackbacks_with_count}{end_trackbacks_anchortag}
    </div>
</div>
<div class="block-divider"> </div>

You will notice the digg related extra code at the top. There are a few different Digg icons that can be used and their site had the complete details on how to add the different styles.

Please consider contributing to support my efforts ..

Thanks, Blaine - I'll try it out when I get the chance. We've had a content manager for our site since the very beginning and I'm not sure why we haven't looked at content syndication more seriously, but lately we've been trying to figure out different ways to promote our content and Digg looks like one possible way.

Warmly,

- Marco
