Forum Version 2.7 Released

Geeklog TopicsThe latest release of the forum plugin v2.7 is now available. It includes a number of small bug fixes that have been reported over the past few months as well as a couple of new features. You can now optionally have the forum appear with just left blocks, just right blocks, both left and right or no blocks. Additionally you can have the user menu appear as a horizontal navbar instead of the blockmenu. The options are defined in the themes functions.php so if you have multiple themes you can have it change for each theme if requried.

There are no database changes so all that should be required is to replace the changed files or complete directories. Existing sites running version 2.6 need to replace all the plugin files and run the plugin upgrade which just needs to update the version number. Refer to the v2.7_changes.txt file for more details and listing of the changed files.

glMenu 2.5 Released

Geeklog TopicsThe glMenu plugin that now supports creating menus in either the CSS mode or the Milonic Menu mode is available. I released the 2.x line of glMenu a few months ago which created the pure CSS based menu's and offered it as free upgrade to existing 1.x owners which is the Milonic menu version. As announced in the forum, work has been in progress to unite these two versions and make it possible to switch modes online. Additionally many new features have been added to make this a very compelling reason to upgrade or purchase.   Free download for existing glmenu owners.
  • Integrated online config to switch between CSS and Milonic Mode
  • Integrated color picker to theme your CSS based menus
  • Choose from 15 pre-defined Milonic styles online - optionally add more
  • Multi-Language labels now available
  • Able to define an image to appear as part of the menuitem label

The WIKI on this site has updated which includes the expected install and upgrade directions as well as details on how to administrate the menu. If your interested in knowing more about glMenu or how it can save you many hours of  time and fustration managing your site menu - check out the details on glMenu as described in the wiki docs.

glMessenger 1.8 Released

Geeklog Topics

The glMessenger plugin has now been updated to better integrate with your GL 1.4.1 site and theme. There were some template issues as well as a need to update the installation directions. The directions to modify the templates and integrate the new My Account - Privacy settings so a user can control the new private message notifications options have been updated and hopefully better explained.

If you have already purchased the plugin in the past, you should be able to download the update.  Access the glMessenger product detail page here and the Buy Now button should be a download link. If you have any issues - please just PM me and I will resolve it.

if you have not yet purchased the plugin, and want an easy way for members to communicate privately or you want an easy way to add/modify the smile emoticons that are used in the forum, then glMessenger is a great solution for you. The plugin is integrated with the forum plugin as well (as show on this site) making it easy to contact a site member. You can check out the messenger features online if you are logged in, you will have a Private Messages link in the main left side menu.
